Wow! What a summer!

I’m still in process of writing my blog entry about my friends being on Trading Spaces! Summary: they had a great time and would definately recommend it! (the rooms turned out great). Be sure to visit my Houseblog later today for the “after” pictures of one of the houses! 🙂
But here was the rest of our summer…(warning, picture heavy):
Constant, our french exchange student was wonderful to have here and we truly missed him when he left:

The kids really loved having him around….Missy C sees Eifel towers everywhere and I think Matey Moo really enjoyed the concept of a big brother!
Then, after Constant left, we went down to the Dragon Boat Festival at Sloan’s Lake. We’ve lived here for 6 years and never made it down! It was a lot of fun! Very multicultural and interesting. Matey Moo and I enjoyed an interesting food item which we never identified because all of the sellers and purchasers only spoke Chinese! It was kind of like a huge flat, meat filled dumpling. Good!
I loved hearing Wendy Woo – who is one of my favorites…the kids were sweaty (it was humid) but it was nice to sit on the soggy wet grass and listen!
After Constant left we decided to completely swap the kids rooms and paint both. I’m about 1/2 way through making new curtains and we’re renting a pain sprayer today to paint the rooms…is that cheating? 🙂 Anyway, I’m sure I’ll have photos on that soon.

I’m also working on my round robin block, the wedding quilt and the pieces I hope to show in the art show Sept 1st (YIKES!…less than a month away!)

I have neglected my blog – life has had me focusing on different things and I don’t even think I picked a word of the year last year. However, this year is different. I’m more focused, more organized, more grounded than I have ever been. My life has been full

A surprising way to cultivate contentment – I found this article in Psychology Today and thought it was appropriate. Last year my word was Carefree and I think I missed it by a mile – not all in all a bad thing, but maybe misreading my life in general. I
