So, one of my issues last year was stopping to just enjoy life. Unlike most people, we escaped the health and employment issues of crazy 2020 but I couldn’t help but wait for the “other shoe” to drop – basically waiting for something bad to happen.
In searching for a “word of the year”, I came across this quote from a book:
“I’m like my mother, she thought, I search my joy for signs of sorrow ahead.”
Soheir Khashoggi, Nadia’s Song
This struck me and so I’ve settled on a phrase for this year:
“Stop searching my joy for signs of sorrow ahead”
This will be a rough one – trying to just sit back and enjoy life.
On that note, my family and I made a video as our “Holiday letter” this year so I wanted to share it:
Happy 2021 everyone and here’s to a better year next year!
