I have been literally buried under work (not snow…despite the picture). The great news is that a lot of it has been for MountainPeek Creations where I have to look at a lot of quilt patterns (oh, how horrible for me, eh?). They are in a rush to get to the big show! Then I have a new site that I will be working on for a children’s book author. So, fun, challenging, but not a lot of needlework of any kind.
I’ve had my first (the shell) of two brazillians ready to go and have made like 4 stitches on it and then Tina’s quilt is still missing arms. I’m actually trouble shooting the stuffing and I think that it needs backing that’s reinforced so the stuffing stuffs on the right side (actually Kari of Mountainpeek pointed out that my cotton was lighter weight than the satin and might be pushing it back. So, next step is to iron on some stabalizer and see what happens. I think i’ll have to remove 1/2 the stuffing, but I’ll see.
I like the way it’s turning out, but I’d love to get arms and hair on her and start a bit of embellishment. I know how I want to do the quilt, so I’m HOPING the rest goes quickly after this part. Oh well, no sense in doing it if it’s not right!
