My grandmother’s buttons

So, over the past week, I’ve brought home a heap of my grandmother’s buttons from my Mom’s house….the amazing thing is that I took a fraction of them…there are probably 3 more button boxes there. For those who don’t do crazy quilting, buttons are an integral part of the design and so invaluable! So, I randomly went through and picked up some of the ones that intrigued me the most or I thought would go with my current projects:

So, in trying to “research” the background of buttons, I ran across: Collecting antique buttons – a pretty good short history. I need to find more in depth articles tho.
