Thanks to Debra! And National Blog Posting Month!

Thanks to Debra for the comment on my last post and for pointing me to NaBloPoMo! I needed a kick in the tushie! It’s interesting when you start life as a stitching blog and it sort of evolves – my family (exteded here and in Australia) read this blog as well as neighborhood friends and then primarily people who stitch…crazy quilters, art quilters, embroiderers. Frankly it’s a very very broad audience and I feel sometimes that I worry about neglecting one for the other.

Well, here’s what I’m going to do…keep this as my creative outlet (or inspiration – which I need desperately right now) but I’m also not going to apologize for writing about life. I hate HUGE gaps in folks blogging because life intervenes…seems to me like it’s your life and you can write about it, or whatever you need to write about.

We have just hit 176 members at Bloggers who Embellish. I’ve been a bit slow to approve folks but mostly because I have been being spammed with people joining (like icky “ringtone” blogs), so I tend to put it off a week and go through them all at once. I’m also going through and tossing out abandoned blogs (ones that haven’t updated in more than 6 months) and any others that have dropped our logo – only those who look like they are perfectly capable of adding the logo link (ie, they have 50 on them!).

Well, just to prove that I still surf and catch cool stuff: I love Mimi Kirchner’s Doll » big man- tourist 2 where the shirt has appliqued felt Hawaiian motif and I can’t wait to try the
stained glass technique featured in cqmagonline – gosh! I could have used that with my grafitti quilt! And finally I found this page: Challenge 2006 Ballot – I’m amazed at how many of the quilt artists I know throught he blogosphere!

Ok, so here’s a “cheer” to a November FULL of blog entries! (wish me luck!)

Persist – my word of the year 2018

I have neglected my blog – life has had me focusing on different things and I don’t even think I picked a word of the year last year. However, this year is different. I’m more focused, more organized, more grounded than I have ever been. My life has been full

A surprising way to cultivate contentment – I found this article in Psychology Today and thought it was appropriate. Last year my word was Carefree and I think I missed it by a mile – not all in all a bad thing, but maybe misreading my life in general. I
