Another thing I did – weekend after last, was attend an exhibit at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. We’re so lucky to have this fabulous resource in Colorado! They have recently moved spaces (down the street) and the space is smaller, but more compact – and probably easier for volunteers.
The gift shop is fabulous! While we were there, we wandered down to the Golden Quilt Company and I purchased a really simple little project. A Minky (or similar fabric) blanket with a contrasting fabric for the trim. All it took was rotary cutting the trim into 3 equal strips and putting it on the blanket as binding.
Here’s a little tutorial for machine sewing on a “ready made” binding, but fabric is pretty much the same way: Applying a Binding
I (of course) did the back side by hand with an applique stitch. It’s really easy and a quick project for in front of the TV!
