My new series on my favorite online/bloggy artists

I am SO excited. I’ve been blogging for forever (eek, since 2004) and have made many many friends online in the world of beading, art quilts, traditional quilts, crazy quilts, embroidery and more.

What has always amazed me is how FRIENDLY all these people are. I’ve had wonderful personal notes from quite a few, acknowledgements of comments (which I have to admit I don’t always do! I try to – hard to do if people don’t leave a link) and even ongoing email conversations.

But for the miracle of the internet, these are all people who I wouldn’t normally have a chance to meet –  much less get to know. Some of these people, like Susan Sorrell and Sharon Boggon, I now consider friends – who I would go WAY out of my way to meet if we lived closer together. Wow, the concept of stitch nights! ha ha!

One day, while surfing around on Facebook AND catching up on my blogs in my blog reader I had an inspiration! What if I could ask them questions. How they got started, what their inspiration was, what their other interests are, etc and what if I got answers and put them here! Ta-da! An idea was born! I’m introducing a series on my favorite blogs and bloggers – all artists and crafters who are an inspiration to me on many levels.

So, today I’m busy writing out questions to a few of the folks I have emailed and I am SO excited. I have always had a huge collection of art/craft blogs I have followed and so this is a REALLY diverse group with some fascinating stories and artistic directions and I can’t wait to get answers from them.

What I’m really hoping is that everyone else wanted to ask some of these questions too! So, here’s the challenge – anyone have an idea for the name of my series? I’m going to cross post it on Divine Caroline, so I’d love something catchy! “The Artist’s Studio” (take off on the “Actor’s studio”),  Artists Q&A (boring), ok, help…help me come up with a name, please?
