Perfect Moment Monday: sometimes “together” is doing seperate things

well I’m so happy my friend Lori is back doing “Perfect Moment Monday”! Yay! And I just happened to have one of those moments last week and thought I’d share.

It was the first cold enough evening to have a fire in our fireplace. My husband grew up in a warm climate AND has never had a house with a fireplace. So, this in essence, was his first fire. And it was lovely. However, that didn’t make the perfect moment.

I’m not sure about your household, but sometimes we feel bad that we don’t do things “as a family” more – we have different interests and quite often end up at different ends of the house. However, this was one of those times that were “together” and yet seperate.

I was engrossed in a book – on of those “can’t put it down” types. My husband and daughter were finishing off a chess game (they LOVE games and are both competitive) – by the way, my 10 year old daughter one! (good for her!)

And my Aspergerarian son was doing what he loves best – watching a movie. We were all doing what we love, but doing it with a camaraderie that made it a hugely Perfect Moment.

Have you ever had that happen?

Oh, and welcome back Lori!
