Shoveling Water and other Fall anomalies

Shoveling Water and other Fall anomalies

Those of you who reacted with shock and horror and my last picture of our recent snowstorm will be glad to know that it’s all gone. It was really reminiscent of a sloppy spring snow and when I went to clear our walks it was like shoving off big shovel’s full of water. There was some damage…broken branches, etc, but nothing horrible and back to the business of fall. For those who have never been here, this is what Colorado’s like…80 one day and snow the next….the good news is that it will be 75 on Friday.

Oh, and the cat is ok. After surgery and an overnight in the vet hospital, but he’s ok. He did swallow something of the kids (apparently white and rubbery) and I’ll be interested to see and identify it when we go pick him up. I know…eager to see something that’s been “inside” my cat! 🙂 But on the other hand, I DON’T want this to happen again! :-)(I’m not even going to discuss the cost!)

This is care of Arlee’s blog, but bears a note if you missed it. I’ve been wanting to do fabric postcards and here’s a spiffy little “to the point” tutorial at: Red Shoe Ramblings: How To Make A Fabric Postcard DebR Style. Obviously injecting your own style, I think it’s a pretty good all around lesson. And if you’re in learning mode, Sharon has posted a wonderful summary on Embellishments in Crazy Quilting…she is so wonderful at explaining this sort of thing, and if you have a cup or two, go back in her “lessons” and there’s information to get any budding crazy quilter started!

A surprising way to cultivate contentment – I found this article in Psychology Today and thought it was appropriate. Last year my word was Carefree and I think I missed it by a mile – not all in all a bad thing, but maybe misreading my life in general. I
