What is perfect? And a new reason to post to my blog every day.

The reason to post? Well, at least for a month! A real life bloggy friend of mine Suzanne (aka Crunchy Green Lovin Mom) – posted on Facebook that she was going to do a 30 days meme…some I’ve seen seem sorta intrusive and since some of my readers come here for stitching, my darling family read for pictures of the kids (ha ha) and the rest – heck, no idea why you’re here! Anyway, I doubt it’s to read my deep dark secrets!

Speaking of real life bloggy friends, Lori, my friend who does “Perfect Moment Monday” is also a real life bloggy friend and I have to say it’s fun to get together with other people who understand this writing obsession. I like having “themes” to kind of gather my blogging around. Even though we all blog about different things – somehow blogging is a hobby/passion unto itself.

I have been writing (off and on) all summer, about my “perfect moments”. Partially because it’s been a crappy summer, and because that makes me want to look at the good in everything.

This past weekend (see, it’s Tuesday, I didn’t even make the Monday deadline) was – for all intents and purposes, sucky. A lot of things were not right. But you know what’s interesting?

It was also perfect. Saturday was crazy, we ran 1000 places, had a ton of fun, (playdates, fall festivals, flu shots, LAN parties, dinner with friends) and then Sunday, a sick kid, a mellow kid (will he be sick? Probably) – but you know what’s interesting? It was perfect. So, what is perfect?

Throughout the weekend, I got to watch my kids smile, my husband relax, the trees change color, laugh with neighbors, laugh with friends, enjoy other people’s company – hug my kids and you know what – that’s really all it took to make a perfect weekend.

Interesting eh? I think I’ll still track my “perfect moments” – somehow I think it’s good for the soul to look at life from a positive view.

So to begin the meme thing for the month. First, let me say, these are short things (for the most part) and may spur me to blab about something else. I promise that very little of it will be heavy or deep – I’m just not feeling that way right now!

So, for my meme entry for

Day 1 – your favorite song.

Wow! I have NO idea, throughout my life I’ve had a billion favorite songs. So favorite I played them over and over and sang with them until I went hoarse. So, to pick just one? It seems unfair. (yes, stop and picture me here racing over to youtube and an 80’s list of songs to see what’s there…..hmmmm, hang on, thinking…….)

Ok, I can’t do just one. So, the first one is the song I named the original incarnation of this blog after “Frequently Wrong but Never in Doubt” by Cheryl Wheeler (who’s awesome by the way) – I found the clip on Amazon – great song.

Another blogging link to me and music is that for YEARS I’ve used the name “sharkeysday” as my “handle” on about everything from boards to passwords.  In all that time, I’ve probably had 4 people know what it is:

Still, oddly, not a favorite song,  just weird and I loved it.

How can you pick a favorite song? Seriously, I LOVE Elvis – “Can’t help falling in love” – but is it my favorite?

Or Kate Bush “Wuthering Heights” or Madonna “La Isla Bonita” or Martina McBride (yes, love country too) “The way that I am” or Simon and Garfunkle “The sounds of silence”. I must add that I saw Ice-T (love rap as well) in concert and really loved it.

Ok, I’m impossible to pin down musically and couldn’t pick a favorite song if you paid me.  So, I’ll leave you with:
