why I hate my sewing machine

Not my machine in particular (I have a great Singer, that Leslie traded me for some webwork) but ALL sewing machines. Now, the interesting part of this revelation is that I’m saying this from complete ignorance.

I hate my sewing machine because I don’t understand it. I’m sitting here with all the parts out in front of me, trying to figure out what I’m doing and I’m lost. I HATE feeling ignorant and I can’t believe something that should be simple can be so complicated.
