This week, was all about giving, I didn’t even realize it until I looked back at what had happened over the week. On Thursday we had “family haircuts” – my hubby had gotten his haircut the month before and just made a group haircut appointment for the rest of us! The kids really really needed haircuts and Missy C was eager to get a “makeover” – here’s how extreme it was:

The great thing is she donated her cut off hair to “locks of love” – if you’re not familiar with them go check out their website! It’s a wonderful charity and I’m very proud of Missy C for thinking of it!
Then on Saturday night we participated in “Earth Hour” – it’s every March 26th at 8:30pm – no matter where you are in the world. We’ve celebrated Earth hour for 3 years now and really feel it’s not only an important cause, but the kids love it!
Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries/territories participating. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, CN Tower in Toronto, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.
The kids had SO much fun. They’re at an age where we can light candles and we sat around telling stories – the kind where each person tells a part of the story and it gets sillier and sillier! One featured a panda bear who ran around the forest!
All in all, a couple of awesome perfect moments this week!
